A lifelong music community, from your first chord to your first gig. A new home for London's guitar culture.
Google's mission is to organise the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. Ours resonates with it: we teach music in a way that is universally accessible, helping students of every age understand the world of music.
Born around a kitchen table in East London, KitchenJam has been trusted by over 1,000 students since 2013. Beloved by families, creatives, kids, and adult learners alike, we create unforgettable experiences in a warm, design-led environment. Many of our students are programmers, with some working at Google.
KitchenJam is the place to learn guitar and build a lasting community.
Around 8% of people play guitar. That means hundreds of Googlers on site who would love the chance to play right beneath their workplace.
A curated partnership using music learning as a team-building activity employees genuinely value. Not everyone will run on the rooftop track.
Lessons, jams and gigs downstairs give hybrid teams one more reason to choose the office over working from home.
Another facet of the campus offer: a living music community candidates can see, hear and join from day one.
Partnering with a community music school shows Google investing in the neighbourhood, not just occupying it.
Many of our students are programmers, some already at Google, alongside creatives and young families. KJ Kids sits naturally beside on-site family amenities.
Soft drop-ins, monthly lessons, events, merchandise, workshops.
Proven educational model with a loyal following. Many students have been with us for 10+ years, since our first commercial opening.
Students travel from as far as Oxford, Cambridge, and Kent. Many remain living and working in the area because of their lessons and love of the community.
1 or 2 room setup, small group format (4–6 per class) with adults and kids all under one roof.

Joshua started with KitchenJam at age five and has just been awarded a full scholarship to Westminster High School for his exceptional electric guitar skills.
His parents, classically trained pianists, chose KitchenJam for our unique approach that prioritises:
"He gets to play all the cool songs, be in a band with friends, and perform often. I love the community spirit KitchenJam creates." - Akiko, Joshua's mother
We're collaborating with world-renowned designer Marcello Minale (Armani, Fendi, Harrods) to bring to life a space that embodies the soul of guitar playing and musical creativity. The KitchenJam studio is built as a rehearsal-room-meets-private-club: intentionally small spaces that create intimate experiences.
The energy fostered in our studios is rooted in real memories: the spirit of playing guitar in your dad's old workshop, evolving into those electric jam sessions that first sparked up our East London kitchen. We're building a home where music brings people together.

Lasting connections with brands, venues and institutions that our students play with every week.

Partnering with industry-revered instrument manufacturers, including Korg, Vox, and Mapex, to hold events and showcase their instruments, all accessible to our students to play.

Working with Dunlop to supply our guitar maintenance and repair workshops, and giving them a stage to showcase their products.

From practice to performance, students experience live music from world-class artists, and get the chance to play a real stage themselves.

Cross-pollinating with fellow retailers and nearby businesses, creating collaboration opportunities and bringing additional revenue to our neighbours.

Offering a dynamic platform for local students: work experience with us, and performances within the university campus to showcase them.

In partnership, we bring design to the forefront of our space with unique fittings.
